Consortium for Educational Communication, an Inter University Centre of UGC has offered a bouquet of 11 DTH channels including channel no-02 with a view to empower students of History, Culture and Philosophy at under graduate level. The main subjects are as under History (Bachelor of Arts) Philosophy (B.A. Hons) Ravindra Sangeet (B.A. Hons) Karnataki Music (B.A. Hons) Hindustani Classical Music (B.A. Hons) Fine Arts (B.A.) B.F.A. Painting Applied Art- Sculpture Theatre Arts Applied Multimedia Photography (B.A.) Film Studies (B.A.) The channel, an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development has developed the indigenous IT platform to facilitate hosting of all under graduate courses to be accessed by anyone, anytime. Each course offers a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of the subjects and encourages the students to go to the next level. The channel has fresh educational contents for 6 hours a day to be telecast four times, enabling the students to choose a convenient time and ensure recapitulation. The courseware includes programmes for three years of under graduate study. The fare also includes enrichment programmes. Swayam Prabha channel no-02 is the students own knowledge bank that empowers them. ÔÇ£Television is teaching all the time. It does more than the schools and all the institutions of higher learning.
